NEW DELHI: Midcaps and smallcaps were outperforming Sensex during Wednesday's session.At 10:45 am, the BSE Midcap index was 0.35 per cent up at 15,330, while the BSE Smallcap index was 0.31 per cent up at 15,268.
The BSE Sensex was 0.19 per cent down at 36,581 at that time.Shares of Vakrangee (down 2.89 per cent), TVS Motor Company (down 2.62 per cent), The Ramco Cements (down 2.28 per cent), JSW Energy (down 2.08 per cent) and Rajesh Exports (down 1.96 per cent) were among the top losers in the midcap index.
However, Bharat Electronics (up 10.39 per cent), ABB India (up 2.68 per cent), Reliance Communications (up 2.60 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals (up 2.33 per cent) and Bayer Cropscience (up 2.11 per cent) were among the top gainers in the midcap index.
On the other hand, Future Enterprises (down 7.52 per cent), Satin Creditcare Network (down 6.64 per cent), Healthcare Global Enterprises (down 6.16 per cent), Sathavahana Ispat (down 5.82 per cent) and RSWM (down 5.37 per cent) featured among the top losers in the smallcap index.
Hathway Cable Datacom (up 9.84 per cent), ILFS Investment Managers (up 9.12 per cent), Orient Cement (up 8.78 per cent), TD Power Systems (up 8 per cent) and CL Educate (up 7.96 per cent) were among the top smallcap gainers.Market turned red on losses led by FMCG, auto and IT stocks.
ITC, Hindustan Unilever, Maruti, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Tata Motors, ICICI Bank and State Bank of India were among the top drag on Sensex index.In the Sensex index, 13 stocks were advancing and 18 were declining.
