NEW DELHI: Telecom shares were trading mixed with the SP BSE Telecom index trading 4.76 per cent up at 1029.73 on Friday.
Shares of Vodafone Idea (up 13.70 per cent), Bharti Airtel (up 7.13 per cent), GTPL Hathway (up 4.64 per cent) and Tata Communications (up 4.47 per cent) were the top gainers in the index.
GTL Infrastructure (down 4.67 per cent), Vindhya Telelinks (down 3 per cent), Sterlite Technologies (down 2.89 per cent) and ITI (down 2.62 per cent) were among the laggards.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 34.15 points at 10,650.85 while BSE Sensex was up 144.88 points at 35,405.42 around 02:40 pm.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.
Shares of Jet Airways, YES Bank, Idea Cellular, PC Jeweller, Reliance Communications, Infibeam Avenues, JP Associates, PNB, Adani Power, SREI Infra Finance, Dewan Housing, Suzlon Energy, Ashok Leyland, MindTree, Bharti Airtel and South Indian Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
