NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading in the green with the Nifty Auto index up 2.51 per cent at 9068.65 on Wednesday.Shares of Motherson Sumi Systems (up 4.75 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (up 4.54 per cent), Bajaj Auto (up 2.87 per cent) and Tata Motors (up 2.75 per cent) were the top gainers in the index.
Mahindra Mahindra (up 2.55 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India (up 2.53 per cent), Tata Motors (up 2.50 per cent) and Bharat Forge (up 2.49 per cent) too were trading in the green.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 112.70 points at 10,661.85 while BSE Sensex was up 357.38 points at 35507.39 around 10:29 am.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 43 were trading in the green, while 7 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Sun Pharma, Ashok Leyland, Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, Indian Oil Corp, SBI, ICICI Bank, Bank of Baroda, Indiabulls Housing Finance, RIL, Vedanta, ONGC, SAIL, Tata Steel and NTPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
