NEW DELHI: PSU Bank shares were trading higher with the Nifty PSU Bank index up 1.89 per cent at 2935.35 on Wednesday.
Shares of Syndicate Bank (up 7.64 per cent), Bank of India (up 7.30 per cent), Oriental Bank of Commerce (up 4.84 per cent) and Vijaya Bank (up 4.61 per cent) were the top performers in the index.
Union Bank of India (up 4.56 per cent), Bank of Baroda (up 4.22 per cent), Central Bank of India (up 3.83 per cent) and Canara Bank (up 3.66 per cent) too were trading in the green.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 162.75 points at 10,711.9 while BSE Sensex was up 533.71 points at 35,683.72.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 46 were trading in the green, while 4 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, ICICI Bank, Tata Motors, Vodafone Idea, Bank of Baroda, SBI, Ashok Leyland, Sun Pharma, Indian Oil Corp, ONGC, RIL and Vedanta were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
