NEW DELHI: IT shares were trading lower in Friday's morning session.Shares of Wipro (down 3.70 per cent ) , Infibeam Avenues (down 2.96 per cent ) and HCL Technologies (down 1.25 per cent) were the worst performers in the index.
Infosys (down 1.10 per cent) , NIIT Technologies (down 0.92 per cent) and Oracle Financial Services Software (down 0.16 per cent) too were trading with losses.
The Nifty IT index was trading 0.77 per cent down at 15,462.05 around 10:43 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 30.70 points at 11,027.50 while the BSE Sensex was down 62.26 points at 36,663.16.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 were trading in the green, while 32 were in the red.
Shares of Wipro, Tata Motors, Vodafone Idea, NTPC, Bank of Baroda, NHPC, SBI, YES Bank, Ashok Leyland and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
