The selection process for the effective bidders is to be finished by July 30The Indian Renewable Resource Development Firm Limited invited bids to establish solar producing units under the government's Rs 4,500-crore production connected reward (PLI) scheme.
According to a declaration released by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy on Friday, June 11, the government has designated the PSU as the carrying out agency for the scheme.
Earlier, the government had authorized the Rs.
4,500 crore plan to boost domestic production of solar photovoltaic or PV modules.

The selection procedure for the effective bidders is to be completed by July 30, said the ministry.
Indian Renewable Resource Development Agency or IREDA had actually floated the invite for the application file on May 25 and the electronic application process went live on May 31.
As part of the project, the applicants are needed to set-up either a brownfield or greenfield production facility for the whole capacity allocated under the scheme.
Setting up a mix of brownfield and greenfield facilities under the PLI plan is not allowed.The manufacturing capacity or unit, for which the needed capital items have actually been imported prior to the last date of the bid submission, will not be eligible for involvement under the PLI scheme, said the ministry.
In addition, the minimum capability of the manufacturing unit to be installed should be 1,000 megawatt.
The production-linked reward will be disbursed to the effective candidates each year for a duration of 5 years.The solar capability addition depends mostly upon the imported solar photovoltaic cells and the modules as the domestic industry has actually restricted functional capabilities of these cells/modules.
