
China is willing to work with African countries, including Nigeria, as well as the vast number of developing countries, to jointly reject protectionism, oppose hegemony and bullying, and make clearly heard the voice of upholding multilateralism and protecting fairness and justice, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated on Tuesday.Wang, likewise a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks when conference with Nigerian Foreign Minister Yusuf Tuggar.Wang stated China welcomes Nigeria as a partner country to participate in the BRICS conference and supports Nigeria in playing a higher function in international and regional affairs.For his part, Tuggar stated Nigeria will continue to strongly follow the one-China principle.Nigeria praises Chinas zero-tariff treatment for the least industrialized African countries with which it has diplomatic relations, he stated, expressing hope that China will continue to provide support for the advancement of West Africa.Nigeria is willing to work in solidarity and coordination with China to collectively protect multilateralism and the typical interests of the Global South, Tuggar included.
