Issuing a statement today, the Election Commission added that the arrangements under Section 84A of the Local Authorities Elections Ordinance (Cap 262) elucidate the companies obligation in granting leave for their employees to cast vote, and this applies to the Local Authorities Election set up for May 06 as well.Furthermore, the declaration noted that although this has actually been informed to all employers, yet the Election Commission has gotten complaints that this arrangement has not been stuck to by some banks and monetary institutions. It is therefore notified that the heads of all state sector and economic sector banks and banks need to approve leave appropriately to the employees of particular organizations to go to the ballot stations designated to them and cast vote, it added.
