Applicants must create an account using their email address, complete the application form, and submit all necessary supporting documents.Once the application passes the preliminary online reviewusually within 1 to 3 working daysapplicants will get an alert showing their Passport to be submitted status.At that point, candidates should personally visit the Chinese Embassy in Colombo to offer their passport and biometric details, such as finger prints.
The last review then takes an extra 3 to 4 working days.Express Processing Still AvailableThe system will continue to offer both Normal and Express processing choices.
Express service will just use after the initial evaluation is total and physical files have been sent in person.An extra cost applies for expedited processing, and this charge will not be reimbursed even if processing times are extended by the consular office.Applicants are encouraged to use for their visas 2 to 3 weeks before their intended travel date to avoid delays.Submissions on Behalf of OthersApplicants may fill out the online visa application on behalf of someone else.
Unless the applicant is exempt from finger print collection, they should personally submit their passport and other required files to the Embassy.Those exempt from fingerprinting may license a third celebration to submit files, pay costs, and gather the visa on their behalf.Transition from Old SystemThe Embassy also confirmed that visa types submitted by means of the previous system before 5:00 PM on June 27, 2025, will stay valid.However, applicants need to send their documents before the due date to finish the procedure under the old system.
