A fluent Mandarin-speaker with a perfect Beijing accent, Lao Tan was motivated to initiate the “& ldquo; Krankin & rsquo; thru China & rdquo; campiagn in 2017, thanks to his friendships with people with impairments caused by back injuries.
Important to his scheme was the idea of building bridges to the wider world through handcycles.
