Kerala floods: The due date for filing income tax return (ITR) for assessees in Kerala has been extended to September 15 on account of devastating floods.
The heavy rains and subsequent floods have led to destruction of life and property in the state, reported news agency Press Trust of India (PTI).
The new deadline of September 15, the CBDT said in its statement, is applicable to taxpayers in Kerala who were "liable to file their Income Tax Returns by 31st August, 2018".CBDT had earlier extended the 'due date' for filing of income tax returns from July 31 to August 31, this year for salaried employees, which has now been extended by 15 days.
