NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading mixed with the Nifty Auto index up 0.79 per cent at 9275.05 on Friday.Shares of Mahindra Mahindra (up 2.56 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India (up 1.77 per cent), Ashok Leyland (up 1.63 per cent) and Exide Industries (up 1.22 per cent) were the top gainers in the index.
Tata Motors (down 2.03 per cent), Tata Motors (down 1.98 per cent), Motherson Sumi Systems (down 0.84 per cent) and Amara Raja Batteries (down 0.56 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 40.90 points at 10,899.6 while BSE Sensex was up 164.24 points at 36,334.65.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 were trading in the green, while 22 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Idea Cellular, ICICI Bank, Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors, Indian Oil Corp, ONGC, Bank of Baroda, SBI, BHEL, SAIL, Vedanta, BEL, Indiabulls Housing Finance, NTPC and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
