Earlier, the Delhi government had reduced the value-added tax on petrol from 30 per cent to 19.40 percent.
As a result, petrol prices in the national capital were slashed by Rs 8.56 per litre.
A litre of fuel now costs Rs 95.41 in Delhi, while diesel rates-- which were kept the same-- stood at Rs 86.67 per litre.In Mumbai, fuel is retailed at Rs 109.98 per litre, while diesel is being sold at Rs 94.14 per litre.
Among the city cities, fuel rates are still the greatest in the financial capital.

State-run oil refiners such as Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum revise the fuel rates daily, by considering the crude oil rates in the global markets, and the rupee-dollar exchange rates.
Any modifications in fuel and diesel prices are implemented with effect from 6 am every day.Globally, oil gained more ground on Tuesday with prices trading near last session's one-month high up on expectations that the Omicron coronavirus variant will have only a restricted effect on international demand.Brent crude rose 7 cents, or 0.1 per cent, to $78.67 a barrel.
United States West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude rose 18 cents, or 0.2 per cent, to $75.75 a barrel, acquiring for a fifth straight session.
Both markets were trading close to Monday's peaks, their highest rates because late November.
