
One person was killed, and two others remain missing following a residential complex explosion on Wednesday afternoon in Taiyuan, the capital of north China's Shanxi Province, according to the local authorities.At present, 21 people are still receiving treatment at the hospital: six with serious injuries and 15 with minor injuries.The blast occurred in Xiaodian District's Beiying neighborhood around 1 p.m.
The fire triggered by the blast has been extinguished as of 3 p.m.Following the incident, China's Ministry of Emergency Management immediately launched a video conference to coordinate on-site rescue operations.
A response team has been dispatched to the scene to guide the relief efforts.The authorities emphasized the need to extinguish fires, conduct floor-by-floor and building-by-building searches, quickly determine the number of trapped individuals, and prioritize the treatment of the injured.
