BENGALURU: It may no longer be uncommon to see employees walking into their offices in the city with their four-legged friends.
Yes, this may soon become a reality with more and more firms listing out "im-paw-tent" points for pet parents who wish to come to work with their furry companions in tow.As the number of firms allowing pets in offices rises, human resource teams are now drafting pet policies that employees must adhere to.Pet policies spell out the rules regarding pet eligibility, vaccination records, restrictions, pre-approval rules, no-pet spots, responsibilities of pet parents, and so on.
Firms say that as the number of employees bringing pets to office has risen, it is important to have strict guidelines in place to ensure there's a balance."It all started with a couple of employees seeking permission to bring their pets to office, as they were unable to leave them behind at home.
While we want our workplace to be filled with fun and excitement with our pets playing around, we also want to ensure that it doesn't distract our team members or affect their productivity," Hepsibah Rozario, director of PR and communications at Razorpay, says.
The guidelines by Razorpay include keeping pets always leashed, disposal of leftover food and pet waste, and announcing to office in advance, so that those with allergies get a heads up.
