KARNALI, AUGUST 21Prime Minister and CPN-Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the anti-corruption campaign has already kicked off in the country and the incumbent government is firm in this mission. DPM Shrestha pledges to continue anti-corruption campaign CPN-Maoist Centre delegates interact with BJP leader Addressing a gathering of party cadres and inaugural of the three-month organisation strengthening campaign organised by CPN-MC Karnali Province Committee in Birendranagar, Surkhet, today, PM Dahal reiterated that the incumbent government took action for good-governance and against corruption.According to him, the public's confidence in his party has increased after his government tightened the noose against corruption and crime.

"The performance of the government is evident from the action taken against culprits in the fake Bhutanese refugee scam and Lalita land grab scam, among others." Furthermore, he claimed that the incumbent government has addressed problems related to passport and licence, among others.

The PM stated that millions of Nepali migrant workers abroad were brought under the ambit of the social security scheme to ensure financial security for them in future."At present, 350,000 Nepali migrant workers abroad have benefited from the social security scheme," he added.

He argued that if 4 to 5 million Nepali labourers working in foreign lands were roped in the scheme, it would mean social justice in the real sense.As for the alleged involvement of his party's leader Krishna Bahadur Mahara and Mahara's son in the gold smuggling racket, the PM said that the concerned authority was open to conducting investigation.A version of this article appears in the print on August 22, 2023, of The Himalayan Times. .
