KATHMANDU, MARCH 18Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has urged agencies and officials to effectively implement programs for food systems transformation. SC seeks government response on climate change law Govt to form high-level commission over Balkumari incident During a high-level review meeting on food systems commitments held on Monday at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the PM also urged the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and other development partners to effectively advance and mainstream programs for food systems transformation.Nepal's commitments made in various international forums and dialogues were reviewed during the meeting.

Praising Nepal's commitments to food systems transformation in different forums and conferences, the PM directed government officials to prioritize the inclusion of plans for food systems transformation in the upcoming fiscal year's plans and budget. During the occasion, the PM stressed the need for all-round cooperation to make further progress, emphasizing the importance of learning lessons from Nepal's achievements in the areas of food security and nutrition.The PM underscored the importance of reducing the impacts of climate change on food systems and called for advancing production and productivity growth to achieve prosperity by strengthening competitive strength.Highlighting that less than seven years remain to meet the Sustainable Development Goals 2030 target, the PM emphasized the need to prioritize the issue of food systems transformation, considering it a relevant agenda in the context of Nepal's graduation to a developing country. .
