All team members of a Russian-flagged oil tanker harmed throughout a heavy storm wererescued on Monday, finishing rescue efforts that were postponed overnight due to bad weather.Volgoneft 239 was harmed alongside Volgoneft 212, which split in half and sank, when the tankers were captured in a storm in the Kerch Strait on Sunday, triggering an oil spill and the death of one team member.Both tankers were carrying around 8,600 metric lots of mazut, a low-grade heavy fuel oil utilized in power plants in the former Soviet Union, the state-run news firm TASSquoted a confidential emergency official as saying.The Russian governmentsaid Monday that a partial leak of oil items took place, with an inter-agency clean-up effort being prepared.One team member of the Volgoneft 212 tanker was killed due tohypothermia and the other 12wererescued previously on Sunday.
Law enforcement authorities have introduced a criminal examination into the incident.On Monday, Russias Emergency Situations Ministrysaid 5 Volgoneft 239 members were saved near the Krasnodar area village of Volna after it increased the number of first responders.
The ministry said less than an hour later that all 14 people on board the tanker were given shore, finishing the rescue mission.Russias federal government said Natural Resources and Environment Minister Alexander Kozlov and Svetlana Radionova, head of Russias natural resources guard dog Rosprirodnadzor, had reached the website to examine the extent of the damage.Rosprirodnadzorsaid it was taking measurements with the Marine Rescue Service to analyze the level of the oil spill.Russias fishing regulative authority Rosrybolovstvosaid the measurements were required in conjunction with aerial surveillance for a detailed study of the scale of the damage.After the weather condition stabilizes and catastrophe relief efforts are finished, an evaluation of the damage to marine life will be given, Rosrybolovstvo said.A Message from The Moscow Times: Dear readers, We are facing extraordinary obstacles.
