NEW DELHI: Shares of private banks were trading in the green in Tuesday's morning session.Shares of YES Bank (up 3.22 per cent), Federal Bank (up 2.01 per cent), IDFC First Bank (up 1.26 per cent), ICICI Bank (up 1.06 per cent) and IndusInd Bank (up 0.88 per cent) were among the top gainers in the index.
While RBL Bank (down 0.75 per cent) was alone in the red.
The Nifty Private Bank index was trading 0.6 per cent up at 17,494.5 around 09:45 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 39.90 points at 12,113.65, while the BSE Sensex was up 176.79 points at 41,066.02.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Zee Entertainment, Indiabulls Housing, Bank of Baroda, ICICI Bank, Bank of India, Federal Bank, IDFC First Bank and SBI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
