NEW DELHI: Shares of PSU banks were trading higher in Wednesday's morning session.
Shares of Canara Bank (up 1.67 per cent), Punjab National Bank (up 1.32 per cent), State Bank of India (up 1.25 per cent), Bank of India (up 0.98 per cent), Indian Overseas Bank (up 0.94 per cent), Indian Bank (up 0.92 per cent), Bank of Baroda (up 0.86 per cent), Punjab - Sind Bank (up 0.77 per cent), UCO Bank (up 0.63 per cent), Central Bank of India (up 0.52 per cent), Union Bank of India (up 0.49 per cent) and J - K Bank (up 0.36 per cent) were among the top gainers.
The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 1.07 per cent up at 2395.9 around 10:35 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 97.80 points at 12153.6 , while the BSE Sensex was up 307.69 points at 41274.55 .
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 45 were trading in the green, while 5 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors, SAIL, Bharti Airtel, United Spirits, SBI, ICICI Bank, Bank of Baroda and Indian Oil Corp were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
