For the day, the 30-share Sensex closed 1.54 per cent or 483.53 points higher at 31,863.08, while the 50-share Nifty climbed 1.38 per cent or 126.60 points to close at 9,313.90. Around Rs 1.2 lakh crore was added to the market capitalization of the stocks listed on the BSE. Here’s who bought what in bulk deals in Thursday’s trade: >> Julius Baer Multistock – Emerging Equity Fund bought 31,64,274 shares of Equitas Holdings at Rs 53.68 a share.

The shares closed 17 per cent higher at Rs 55.45 a share on the NSE. >> In the third such sale this week, YES Bank sold another 90,50,000shares in Reliance Naval at Rs 1.25 a share.

The shares closed 4.17 per cent higher at Rs 1.25 on the NSE. >>Vanderbilt University bought 2,00,000 shares in Sasken Technologies from Atyant Capital India Fund 1 at Rs 444 each.

The shares closed 0.66 per cent higher at Rs 455.25 a share on the NSE. >>Pinnacle Ventures bought 20,00,000 shares in Reliance Capital at Rs 6.60 each, while Swapnil Mehta sold 29,50,000 shares in the company at the same price.

Reliance Capital shares closed 4.76 per cent higher at Rs 6.60 per share.
