NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading in the red with the Nifty Auto index trading 0.36 per cent down at 9029.8 around 10:50 am on Monday.
Shares of Motherson Sumi Systems (down 2.78 per cent), Tata Motors (down 1.94 per cent), Tata Motors (DVR) (down 1.52 per cent) and Eicher Motors (down 1.34 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
Bharat Forge (down 1.33 per cent), Ashok Leyland (down 1.33 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries (down 0.89 per cent) and TVS Motor Company (down 0.58 per cent) too were trading in the red.Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 3.25 points at 10,530 while BSE Sensex was up 24.56 points at 35,005.58 around 10:50 am.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Idea Cellular, Indian Oil Corp, Ashok Leyland, Infosys, ICICI Bank, Vedanta, Bank of Baroda, HPCL, SBI, Tata Motors, BPCL, SAIL, Axis Bank, Tata Steel and Bharti Airtel were among the most traded shares on the National Stock Exchange.
