NEW DELHI: Shares of HCL Technologies declined over 1 per cent on BSE, while those of Bajaj Finance climbed nearly 1 per cent with both set to enter the BSE Sensex.HCL Tech, along with Bajaj Finance, will replace Wipro and Adani Ports SEZ in the BSE Sensex, Asia Index said on Thursday.
The changes will be effective on December 24.
Moreover, the index provider will drop Power Finance Corporation from the SP BSE 100 index and add Edelweiss Financial Services.
Bharti Infratel, Lupin and HPCL will exit the SP BSE Sensex 50 to make way for Bajaj Finserv, Britannia and JSW Steel.On the BSE Bankex, Punjab National Bank will be dropped for City Union Bank.
Meanwhile, benchmark indices opened on a firm note on Monday, on weakening crude prices overseas and the rupee's rise against the dollar.However, market pared some gains on selling in select IT, bank and metal counters.
The BSE Sensex was 34 points up at 35,015 around 9:55 am, with 18 stocks advancing and 13 declining.Bharti Airtel, Asian Paints, PowerGrid and HDFC Bank were the leading Sensex gainers.YES Bank, ONGC, Adani Ports, Infosys and Tata Motors were among the top losers in the Sensex.
