
Adapted from an award-winning novel, a brand-new film Story of Cotton Field highlighting decades of devotion from those who aided Xinjiangs development is due out in Chinese theaters from June 21.
Director Zhang Zhong revealed his pride during the movies best earlier this week, stating it was a fantastic honor to direct a film of such historical and cultural significance.
He also disclosed that the recording covered 70 days and numerous locations, including Qitai, Mulei, Aksu and some places outside Xinjiang such as Shanghai and Fujian given that it began in September 2023.
The movie has been hailed as a benchmark job for interregional cultural collaboration.The film tells a moving story of perseverance and cross-generational efforts to establish cotton growing in the Xinjiang region.
Veteran star Li Xuejian plays an older generation aid cadre, providing a powerful and genuine performance that conveys the deep emotional connection of those who came to see Xinjiang as their 2nd home.From the first wave of pioneering cadres who rooted themselves in the region and opened new frontiers, to the brand-new generation of youths continuing the mission under Chinas rural revitalization strategy, the film, thought to record a sweeping story of sacrifice and nationwide uniformity, got a possibility of screening along the sidelines of the 37th China Golden Rooster Awards ceremony in 2024.
