
The foreign ministers of China and Vietnam agreed to safeguard global multilateralism during their meeting on Thursday.Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.Both ministers mentioned the successful meeting between the two countries' top leaders in April and agreed to implement the consensus reached by the leaders.Wang welcomed Vietnam's status as a BRICS partner country, adding that China supports Vietnam to join the Shanghai Cooperation Organization at an early date.Wang stated that China consistently opposes economic and trade bullying and tariff coercion.
Instead, China advocates for the resolution of economic, trade and tariff issues through equal dialogue, he added.Bui said Vietnam is willing to work with China to deepen practical cooperation in areas such as railway, finance, science and technology, cultural exchanges.
He added that Vietnam and other ASEAN countries are delighted with the leapfrog development of ASEAN-China cooperation and are prepared to work with China to achieve greater development in ASEAN-China relations.(Cover via China Media Group)
