A 30-year-old individual has been jailed in Peliyagoda by the Kiribathgoda Police last evening (21 ), based upon a tip-off.
Throughout the arrest, cops recuperated a T-56 firearm, a magazine including 30 rounds of ammo, and 5.56 grams of the drug known as Ice (crystal methamphetamine) in the suspects possession.The person was captured while riding a three-wheeler.
The suspect is a previous member of the LTTE who was subsequently restored by the military, said Ada Derana reporter.The suspect, a citizen of Jaffna, is believed by cops to have brought the gun with the intent to commit a crime.Further investigations are presently being carried out by the Kiribathgoda Police.
