Stock Market on Tuesday: Twenty-two out of 50 Nifty stocks declined in trade.
The domestic equity benchmarks halted their marathon run after hitting fresh highs in early trade on Tuesday.
At 11:33 am, the SP BSE Sensex traded at 37,642.45, down 49.44 points or 0.13 per cent while the Nifty50 lost the crucial 11,400 mark and traded at 11,370.40, with a loss of 16.70 points or 0.15 per cent.
Earlier in the day, the Sensex hit a fresh record at 37,876.87 and the Nifty at 11,428.95.
Technical experts expected traders to book profits.
