SIS 2016 report didn&t identify NTJ as terrorist organization - Sagala

A State Intelligence Service (SIS) report presented in November 2016 didn't identify the National Thawheed Jamath (NTJ) as an organization engaging in terrorist activities but as an entity promoting extremist religious views, former Law, Order and Southern Development Minister Sagala Ratnayaka told the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) appointed to probe the Easter Sunday terror attacks yesterday.

PM tells PSC : Cabinet is responsible as a whole

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe testifying before the Parliament Select Committee (PSC) mandated to probe the Easter Sunday terror attacks said that Cabinet was responsible as a whole and that serious lapses in sharing and coordination of intelligence information led to the attacks on April 21 Easter Sunday which claimed over 250 lives.&As I said so from the very beginning since the cabinet is in-charge of the government machinery and when there is a breakdown in the security apparatus we cannot run way,& he said. &There was a lapse in intelligence sharing, because if we knew of this extremist group taking shape, we would have taken counter measures.&

Creation of Ladakh Indiainternal matter - PM

Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has said that the creation of Ladakh as a Union Territory is an internal matter of India.The Indian government on Monday revoked Article 370 which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir and moved a separate bill to split the state into two union territories of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.

The move sparked jubilation in Buddhist-dominated Leh town for coming close to the fulfilment of their long standing demand.The creation of Ladakh and the consequential restructuring are Indiainternal matters, Wickremesinghe said in a communique posted on social media sites.

&Ladakh will become an Indian State. With 70% of Ladakhpopulation being Buddhist it will be the first Indian state with a Buddhist majority.& &Creation of Ladakh and consequential restructuring is Indiainternal matter, it is a beautiful region well worth a visit,& he tweeted.

SC grants permission to revise Dr. ShafiFR petition
