GCE A/L commences today

The GCE Advanced Level Examination commence today at 2,678 centres islandwide with 337, 704 candidates, including 74,789 private candidates, sitting, Examinations Department sources said.A Department press release said that the AL exam will continue till August 31.

The Health Ministry denying media reports on shortage in medicinal drugs in state hospitals as reported by the media, said thatnone of the directors had complained of any shortage of medicine.Medical Supplies Division (MSD) Director Dr. A.T. Sudarshana said a campaign has been orchestrated around the country to the effect that a severe shortage of drugs is prevailing in government hospitals.
