
The Chinese Foreign Ministry on Thursday contacted the global neighborhood, especially significant countries with influence, to produce conditions for promoting a ceasefire and going back to dialogue and settlement amid recent tensions in the Middle East.Guo Jiakun, a representative for the ministry, made the remarks at a regular press rundown in response to a question on the U.S.
preparing for a possible strike on Iran in the coming days.The Middle East is currently in a tense and vulnerable state, dealing with a danger of spiraling beyond control, Guo said.China opposes any act that breaches the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and infringes upon the sovereignty, security and territorial stability of other countries, and opposes the usage or threat of usage of force in international relations, Guo said.The international community, specifically the significant countries with influence, need to uphold an impartial position and a responsible mindset to make efforts to avoid regional stress from escalating, he said.
