State prosecutors submitted a civil suit versus senior Dagestani authorities Magomed-Sultan Magomedov earlier today as part of a continuous investigation into alleged unlawful privatization.Magomedov, who has actually acted as Dagestans state secretary since 2021, was reportedly arrested on Wednesday in Makhachkala following searches at dozens of properties linked to him and his household.
Telegram channels with links to Russian security services stated the investigation includes the alleged prohibited privatization of the petroleum supplier Dagnefteprodukt in 2005.
According to Russias judicial database, the countrys deputy prosecutor filed a civil fit Monday versus Magomedov, five people four of whom share his patronymic and 2 business.
3 other business were noted as third parties in the case.The claim did not define the legal grounds or charges involved.Dagestans court press service told state-run media authorities are wanting to seize an oil refinery owned by the Magomedov household and transfer it, together with other possessions, to the state.Magomedov worked as CEO of Dagnefteprodukt from 1991 to 2005.
The business was restructured in 2021 and now operates as Kaspetrolservis, which is named as one of the 3rd parties in the suit.Kaspetrolservis is part of MSB Holding, a business headed by Magomedovs son, Magomed Magomedov, according to the RBC news site.
MSB Holding and the more youthful Magomedov are both listed amongst the eight defendants.A federal authorities acquainted with the case described Magomedov to RBC as one of Dagestans most influential figures, keeping in mind that law enforcement had avoided acting against him for years for numerous factors regardless of longstanding concerns.The Kommersant business newspaper reported that Magomedov received a governmental certificate of honor from Dagestan local head Sergei Melikov on June 12, less than two weeks before his arrest.
