Top advancers on Nifty were Yes Bank, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Indian Oil, ZEEL and IndusInd Bank.
Domestic stock markets started Thursday's session on a higher note led by gains in financial and metal stocks amid unabated foreign fund inflow.
The SP BSE Sensex rose as much as 155.61 points to touch 37,907.78, while the Nifty50 barometer of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) surged by 41.75 points to hit 11,383.45.
Heavyweights Reliance Industries, HDFC, Larsen Toubro, Axis Bank and Yes Bank contributed the most to the advances on Sensex.
