
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Nicaragua's presidential adviser Laureano Ortega Murillo and Foreign Minister Valdrack Ludwing Jaentschke Whitaker in Beijing on Monday.Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said that China is willing to work with Nicaragua to consolidate high-level mutual trust, continue to provide assistance within its capacity to Nicaragua, and give priority to implementing cooperation projects conducive to Nicaragua's accelerated independent development.China support its enterprises to invest and do business in Nicaragua and believes that Nicaragua will continue to adhere to friendly relations with China and provide a favorable business environment, Wang added.The Nicaraguan presidential adviser said that Nicaragua firmly adheres to the one-China principle and opposes unilateral acts of imposing excessive tariffs, noting that Nicaragua firmly supports the Belt and Road Initiative and the three major global initiatives proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping which contribute to global peace, security, stability and development.(With input from Xinhua)
