The air pollution in Colombo has almost doubled from its normal levels, National Building Research Organization (NBRO) yesterday stated. The sever air pollution in New Delhi, India may possibly have a direct influence over this sudden increase, Senior Scientist at the Environmental Studies Unit of the NBRO Sarath Premasiri told the media. Premasiri warned individuals suffering from respiratory health issues to be cautious considering the prevailing situation.

Korea international Youth Olympiad (KIYO) 2019, which aims at fostering global leadership through creativity and teamwork, was held on October 5th and 6th in Seoul, Korea with the participation of over 400 new inventors representing 37 countries. President appreciated the talent shown by Pasindu, a Grade 11 student of Gokarella Central College won a Gold Medal with a Special Award for his invention and presented him with a computer for his studies.

The National Innovation Agency Bill will be presented in Parliament tomorrow (07) inclusive of the recommendation with regards to the national policies on innovation. The National Innovation Agency will be established as a corporation to seek private sector support for innovation, to contribute to national research, to identify barriers to innovation.
